When you receive a booking request, you'll automatically see the information the owner has filled out in their dog's profile, such as name, age, size, breed, gender and any behavioural information. Make sure that dog size, gender and character suit the environment you will provide when hosting. Hosting needs to be a pleasurable experience for both your guest and you.
If you have any resident dogs, we recommend you also ask if the guest dog is neutered or spayed, as there is a chance non-neutered male dogs can be more dominant and protective of their house.
Please note: Before welcoming a dog for their booking (whether it's boarding, day care or dog walking), make sure to get the following information from the owner, if they didn't already include this in the dog's profile:
- Routines and habits
- Pre-existing medical conditions
- Vet contact details
- Alternative contact details - this should be someone who knows the dog and will be reachable during the booking period (owners are often travelling and are not accessible via their usual phone number or email)
- Food and toys - make sure the owner provides enough food, plus any necessary medication (and toys!) for the entire duration of the booking.
